Camp White Tail Provides Introduction To Into Outdoorsmen Skills

Central Illinois parents looking to introduce their youngsters to the basics of hunting and the outdoors have an opportunity to do so at the end of the month.

Camp White Tail is a 2-day camp that gives families with younger children the opportunity to learn the basics of the outdoor sports. Youth Educator with the University of Illinois Extension Office of DeWitt County, Sherry Fulton explains this is a very family oriented program.

Fulton says it is in a great environment and involves getting a lot of hands on experience. Youngsters will get the opportunity to get experience with rifles and shotguns, along with archery and watercraft safety.

The camp is October 27 and 28 at 4-H Memorial Camp in Monticello. The cost is $49, which includes the program, equipment, supplies, meals and lodging. Registration is required. For more information you can contact 4-H Memorial Camp at 217-762-2741.
