Cardinals Down Giants In Game Three

 width=Matt Carpenter clubbed a two-run homer as the Cardinals downed the Giants, 3-1, in Game Three of the NLCS.  Carpenter came on after Carlos Beltran left after the first inning with a strained left knee.  Shane Robinson also plated a run to help the Cards take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.  Kyle Lohse [[ lowsh ]] tossed five-and-two-thirds innings of one-run ball to get the win.  Jason Motte earned a two-inning save.  Pablo Sandoval knocked in the lone run for the Giants, who left 11 men on base.  Matt Cain allowed all three runs in six-and-two-thirds innings to take the loss.  Rain delayed the game for nearly three-and-a-half hours in the seventh inning.  St. Louis will host Game Four Thursday night.
