Dewitt County Soil and Water Conservation Hosts Sucessful Landowners Meeting

The DeWitt County Soil & Water Conservation District hosted the first annual Lady Landowners meeting on Wednesday at the Warner Public Library. The meeting was huge success with 35 landowners in attendance to hear speakers reporting on programs offered throughout Dewitt County from agencies such as the Dewitt County Soil and Water, National Resource Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, University of Illinois Extension, and the Farm Bureau. Participants voted on agricultural speakers and field trips they would like to attend for future meetings.

The Lady Landowners meetings are going to be held 4 times a year with the next one scheduled for January of 2013.   The Lady Landowners meetings are open to any landowner, male or female, in Dewitt County interested in learning about current farming topics. If you would like to attend these meetings, please call Jonah at the Dewitt County Soil and Water Conservation District 217-935-6504 ext. 3 so your name can be put on their mailing list.

The SWC District would like to thank all the participants who attended the meeting.
