Giants Take Game 7, Headed To World Series

>>Giants Clobber Cards To Win NL Pennant

(San Francisco, CA)  --  The Giants advanced to the World Series by clobbering the defending champion Cardinals, 9-0, in Game Seven of the NLCS.  Hunter Pence drove in two during a five-run third inning for San Francisco, which will host the Tigers in Game One of the Fall Classic on Wednesday.  Matt Cain tossed five-and-two-thirds shutout innings to earn the victory.  The Giants have won six straight games when facing elimination this postseason.  Kyle Lohse was lit up for five runs and six hits in only two-plus innings to take the loss.  St. Louis blew a three-games-to-one lead in the best-of-seven series.

(San Francisco, CA)  --  San Francisco Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro was named Most Valuable Player of the National League Championship Series.  Scutaro batted .500 in the series and tied an LCS record by smacking 14 hits.  Scutaro had the amazing series despite being barreled over on a takeout slide by Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday in Game Two.  The Giants rallied from a three-games-to-one deficit to win the best-of-seven series.  San Francisco will host the Detroit Tigers in Game One of the World Series on Wednesday.
