Hall of Fame Catcher Charged With DUI In Central Illinois

Baseball Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk is charged with driving under the influence and other misdemeanors after his pickup truck was found in a central Illinois cornfield.

New Lenox Deputy Chief Robert Pawlisz (PAHW' lish) said Tuesday officers late Monday found the 64-year-old Fisk asleep behind the wheel and an open liquor bottle on the floor.

Pawlisz says Fisk was taken to Silver Cross Hospital for treatment. He was released from custody after posting bail and has a Nov. 29 court appearance.

Fisk became a part of an unforgettable baseball moment while playing for the Boston Red Sox when he belted a 12th-inning home run that won Game 6 of the 1975 World Series.

Fisk played 11 seasons with the Red Sox and 13 with the Chicago White Sox.
