Running for education is the name of the game for one local group this Saturday.

The Clinton Community Educational Foundation will host their annual 5 krun/walk fundraiser this Saturday the Clinton Jr. High School. The course consists of blocked-off neighborhood streets. Claudine Wargel of the CCEF explains this 5K is a fundraiser for the Educational Foundation's classroom grants as well as some special funds.

Wargel adds since the run will be a few days before Halloween, it will be fun for runners to wear costumes for the event. She explains there will be special features throughout the event as well.

Wargel adds the planning for the 5K doesn't happen overnight. The run has been going for a few years now and credits John Pine, Principal of the Jr. High for being very motivated and getting others involved. She explains there are many details that go into planning the event, but there are great benefits to the event which attracts many people.
