Arrest Made In Connection To Kenney Bank Armed Robbery

At approximately 9:49 A.M. Wednesday morning, the DeWitt County Central Communications received a report of an armed robbrey at the Kenney Bank and Trust located in Kenney.

 width=DeWitt County Sheriff Chief Deputy, Mike Walker says the suspect is described as a white male in his mid-twenties. He is approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall wearing a black ski mask and baggy blue sweatshirt. Walker says the suspect left traveling west on Illinois Route 54 and is believed to have left the area.

Late Wednesday afternoon, the Sheriff's Department took in two suspects in connection with the burglaries. Walker says right now that is the only information they can release.

It is not known at this time what was taken from the Bank.

Authorities now report that the suspect fled from the scene in a vehicle owned by a bank employee.  The suspect took the keys from the employee during the hold up.  The employee has been cleared of having any connection to the crime.  Authorities later recovered the stolen vehicle about three miles west of Kenney on a country road just off Route 54.
