Peanut Tillman Gets NFC Weekly Honor; NFL Notes

>>Bears' Tillman Earns NFC Weekly Honors

(New York, NY)  --  Bears cornerback Charles Tillman was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week Seven yesterday.  Tillman forced two fumbles and posted seven tackles in Monday's 13-7 win over the Detroit Lions.  He becomes the first Bears player to win the award in consecutive games, as he earned the honor in Week Five prior to the bye.

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  The Thursday night spotlight shines on Minneapolis this week as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome.  The Bucs squandered a 21-7 lead at home in a 35-28 loss to the Saints this past Sunday.  Tampa Bay is now 2-and-4 on the season, including 0-and-2 on the road.  The Bucs have dropped nine straight on the road overall but have won their last five meetings against Minnesota.  The Vikings are 5-and-2 after a 21-14 win over Arizona.  Christian Ponder threw for just 58 yards and was picked off twice, but Adrian Peterson picked up the slack with 153 yards and a touchdown on the ground.  Minnesota is 4-and-0 at home this season.

>>Lions Place Burleson On IR

(Allen Park, MI)  --  The Detroit Lions placed wide receiver Nate Burleson on injured reserve on Wednesday.  Burleson broke his right leg in Monday's 13-7 loss to the Bears in Chicago.  He will undergo surgery on Friday.  Burleson recorded 27 catches for 240 yards and two touchdowns in six games this season.  The 10-year veteran has 418 grabs for 5,169 yards and 38 TDs in 126 career games with Detroit, Seattle and Minnesota.  To fill the roster spot, the Lions signed wide receiver Brian Robiskie.  The Ohio State product has 39 catches for 441 yards and three scores in 31 career contests.  He was originally drafted in the second round by Cleveland in 2009.
