The new legislative boundaries worked in the Democrats favor in yesterday's election. But political scientist Kent Redfield says the unprecedented majority in both chambers next year, could be a good or bad thing.

Redfield adds the Democrats will have to own up to fixing all the problems that are plaguing the state.

Lawmakers will be back in Springfield in a few weeks for their veto session. Some fear several big issues could come up for vote because the lawmakers who didn't win re-election may vote on them, because they don't have to account for their vote with constituents. The new legislators will be sworn in next January.
