WIU To Honor Veterans With Camouflage Football Jerseys

Western Illinois University football players are marking Veterans Day with camouflage jerseys.

The Macomb school says the players will debut the new jerseys this Saturday in their last home game of the season. The Leathernecks play Youngstown State.

The jerseys will go on sale to the public after the game with $25 of each sale going to the Fallen Soldiers Scholarship Program. The program started in honor of 2 WIU alumni who were killed in the line of duty.

The purple jerseys will have brown and tan camouflage numbers, camouflage stripes down the sides and camouflage trim around the collar. The Western Illinois Foundation purchased the jerseys for the football program.
