NASCAR RECAP

Kevin Harvick took the checkered flag in the AdvoCare 500 at Phoenix International Raceway ahead of a huge pileup of cars crossing the start-finish line.  The race also featured a wreck involving points-leader Jimmie Johnson and a brawl between Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer's team.  Johnson entered the race with a seven-point lead over Brad Keselowski, but cut a tire and fell 38 laps down before finishing 32nd.  Keselowski avoided the late wreckage to finish sixth and now holds a 20-point lead heading into next week's season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The race ended in a green-white-checkered finish following a wreck between Bowyer and Gordon.  While NASCAR halted the race for track cleanup, the crews from each team broke into a brawl on pit road.  Bowyer got out of his car and sprinted to Gordon's hauler before he was held off by NASCAR officials.  Denny Hamlin took second place in the season's penultimate race, followed by Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne [[ Cane ]] and Ryan Newman.
