Clinton Chamber's Haunted House Enjoys Successful 2012

It was another successful year for the Clinton Chamber's Haunted House.

The "Terror On Washington Street" drew another solid crowd in 2012. Executive Director of the Clinton Chamber, Marian Brisard explains they were short of their goal for 5-thousand people, but overall, it was another successful year.

The attendance numbers may not have been as good if not for an honor the Haunted House received. HauntedIllinois.com reviewed the "Terror On Washington Street" Haunted House and gave them a top 10 rating of all the haunted houses in Illinois. Brisard feels this may have boosted their attendance this year.

While the Chamber was in the midst of their biggest fundraiser, they were also working to benefit the community as well. Brisard explains through the course of the weekends they were open, those who brought a can of food received a dollar off admission. She says there were people who generously brought more than one can of food, and were content with the dollar discount.

The 2nd Annual Canned Food Drive collected a total of 477 cans of food that were donated to DOVE/RSVP of Clinton, Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois and First Christian Church's food pantries.
