Candle Hill Farms General Store Adds Another Business To Downtown Clinton

The downtown Clinton Square's retail spaces continue to be filled.

Earlier this month Candle Hill Farms General Store opened. Owner of the store, Alice Aber says she sells lots of traditional candies, chocolates, pies and many other items. She explains she's modeled her store after a traditional general store and she makes all her baked goods right there on sight.

Having grown up in northern New York, Aber explains she wanted to bring back some of the old time stores that were popular when she was a child. She explains having worked in a store like hers when she was younger has always been an inspiration to open a general store.

Along with traditional candies, Aber offers sixteen varieties of fudge and several varieties of pies. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, she says she is going to work hard to have a wide variety of pies, along with the traditional apple and pumpkin pies.

Along with the many food items, Aber will also feature the artwork of local artists. Patrick Peterson has some artwork on display and for sale at her new store, along with Caleb Smith, who is a teenager who makes jewelry on the side for extra money.

They will be closed Thanksgiving Day.
