An election outcome in DeWitt County is so close that county officials will literally roll the dice to determine a winner.
The Nov. 6 contest for the final spot on the DeWitt County Board in District B is tied.
District B has three seats and two newcomers were named winners. However, only one vote separated two other candidates for the third spot.
Terry Ferguson and challenger George Wissmiller were separated by one vote. But after DeWitt County officials conducted a mandatory election canvass with absentee and provisional ballots the race was tied.
The candidates will toss dice in the county clerk's office today.
Wissmiller ran as an independent and is a retired Champaign police officer. Ferguson is a Republican who previously served on the board.
