The Chicago Cubs have signed pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa to a two-year contract with a vesting/club option for 2015. The deal is worth a reported 9.5-million-dollars. The 32-year-old has spent the last twelve seasons with the Hanshin Tigers of the Japanese Central League. Fujikawa went 42-and-25 with a 1.77 ERA and 220 saves over that time. He is the second Japanese player in Cubs history, following outfielder Kosuke Fukudome [[ KOHS-kay foo-koo-DOH-may ]].
