>>Rays, Royals Complete Major Trade

(Undated) -- The Tampa Bay Rays and Kansas City Royals have completed a blockbuster trade involving pitcher James Shields. The official Twitter accounts of both teams confirmed the news. Kansas City will acquire Shields and pitcher Wade Davis along with a player to be named later or cash in the swap. The Royals will send top prospect Wil Myers, right-hander Jake Odorizzi, left-hander Mike Montgomery and third baseman Patrick Leonard to Tampa Bay in the deal.

Shields was 15-and-10 with a 3.52 ERA for Tampa Bay this past season. Davis went 3-and-0 with a 2.43 ERA in 54 appearances out of the bullpen. Myers hit .314 with 37 home runs and 109 RBI between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha last season. He is considered one of the top outfield prospects in baseball.

>>Dodgers Reportedly Close To Deal With Greinke

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to add the prize free agent pitcher on the market this offseason. The "Los Angeles Times" reports the Dodgers are close to a six-year, 145-million-dollar deal with free-agent Zack Greinke [[ GRAIN-kee ]]. The 29-year-old's deal will reportedly be completed today after he passes a physical. Greinke was a combined 15-and-5 with a 3.48 ERA in 34 starts while splitting last season between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Angels. The 2009 AL Cy Young winner is 91-and-78 with a 3.77 ERA in nine major league seasons with the Royals, Brewers and Angels.
