Clinton Schools To Combine Athletic Director Positions

The Clinton School District has interviewed candidates for a unit-wide Athletic Director position.

Current High School AD Karl Parrish will be stepping down and taking a full time teaching position. While Jr. High Athletic Director Jane Cade will be retiring at the end of the year. Superintendent of Clinton Schools, Dr. Jeff Holmes says they will be combining the two positions into a district position.

Having consistency in the sports programs district wide is a goal of Dr. Holmes and the Board of Education. He says having a unit Athletic Directory will be another step towards that goal of continuity from the grade school level to the junior high level to the high school level.

There are two candidates the Board of Education has interviewed, and both are from within the district. Dr. Holmes says one candidate is first year Head Basketball Coach Chris Gibson and Baseball Head Coach John Hickman. The latest the Board of Education will name their new Athletic Director will be at their regular December Board of Education meeting, December 18.
