Blue Ridge Investigating Additional Parking At Mansfield Facility

The Blue Ridge Board of Education is investigating into what to do with the site of the old elementary school in Mansfield.

With the addition going on right now, the old building will be coming down once it is vacated. Superintendent of the Blue Ridge District, Susan Wilson says they are discussing ideas of what to do with the property, and the idea they are leaning towards the most is using it for a parking lot.

Parking at the Mansfield site can sometimes be a hassle. Wilson explains when that facility hosts events, people are forced to park along the streets neighboring the school. She feels if they can make room for people to park, it not only will benefit those who come out to the school for the various events, but it will also benefit the residents around the school.

Construction began at the site in June and the addition should be complete for the start of school next year.
