Bears, Packers Continue Chatter Prior To Sunday Battle; Rams At Home, Colts To Houston

>>Briggs Joins Marshall In Unloading On Packers

Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs unloaded on the Packers a day after teammate Brandon Marshall did the same thing, saying he's no fan of Green Bay and that Jermichael Finley is "an idiot."

The league's oldest rivals meet Sunday and they've been talking plenty of trash.

Marshall went off on Wednesday, saying he's never disliked a team as much as the Packers. Briggs backed that up a day later, saying his feelings are "very similar."

He really took issue with Finley for telling FOXSportsWisconsin.com the Bears might be better off with linebacker Brian Urlacher sidelined by a hamstring injury. The Packers tight end was quoted as saying Chicago is not "losing too much if he's out." Briggs responded, "He's an idiot."

>>Packers Focused On Stopping Marshall

Greg Jennings thinks Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is a genius.

Marshall had made headlines when he went off on the rival Green Bay Packers during his weekly media availability. But it was something Marshall said later that Jennings found brilliant: Marshall's attempt to bait the Packers into matching their cornerbacks up with him man-to-man.

Marshall said Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers "did an amazing job of game-planning me" in the teams' Sept. 13 meeting, in which Marshall caught only two passes for 24 yards in a 23-10 Packers victory. Then, Marshall dared the Packers to try to cover him one-on-one in Sunday's rematch at Soldier Field.

Here's the bad news for Marshall: There's no way Capers is going to do that on every down Sunday.

>>Vikings, Rams Look To Keep Slim Playoff Hopes Alive

(St. Louis, MO) -- Two teams looking to stay in the playoff hunt square off Sunday as the Minnesota Vikings lock horns with the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome. The Vikings beat the Bears 21-14 at home this past Sunday to improve to 7-and-6. They are tied with Washington and Dallas, one game out of the final playoff spot in the NFC. The Rams are just a half-game further back at 6-6-and-1. St. Louis notched its third straight win this past Sunday, rallying for a 15-12 victory over the Bills at Buffalo.

>>Colts Take On Texans In AFC South Tilt

(Houston, TX) -- The upstart Indianapolis Colts look to tighten up the AFC South when they take on the Houston Texans Sunday at Reliant Stadium. Led by rookie QB Andrew Luck, the Colts have won three straight and seven of their last eight games to hold the AFC's fifth seed at 9-and-4. Indianapolis is just two games behind Houston in the division and still hosts the Texans in Week 17. Houston is 11-and-2 after Monday's 42-14 loss at New England. The Texans can clinch the division with a win over the Colts.

>>Bengals Blast Eagles

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Bengals scored 24 unanswered points in the second half to soar past the Eagles, 34-13. Andy Dalton threw for 127 yards and a touchdown while also running for a score for Cincinnati, which is now a half a game up on the Steelers for the sixth and final AFC postseason spot at 8-and-6. Dalton lost a pair of fumbles, and his team recovered four from the Eagles. BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for 106 yards and a TD in the win. A.J. Green hauled in six catches for 57 yards and the touchdown. Nick Foles tossed for 182 yards, a score and an interception for Philadelphia, which dropped to 4-and-10. Bryce Brown rushed for 34 yards on 16 carries, while Riley Cooper made the TD grab.
