The St. Louis Cardinals have named former major league catcher Bengie Molina an assistant hitting coach. He will work under John Mabry, who took over for Mark McGwire when he left to become the hitting coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Molina spent 13 seasons in the majors with the Angels, Giants, Rangers and Blue Jays. His younger brother, Yadier [[ YAH-dee-air ]], is the starting catcher for the Cardinals.
