Clinton Jr. High School's new Principal is very excited about the future of the school and what he can bring to the table.
Drew Goebel was hired as Clinton Jr. High School's Assistant Principal prior to the start of the 2011-12 school year with the intent that he would succeed current Principal John Pine upon his retirement after this school year. Goebel says he is excited about what the future holds for him in the district and what the future hold for Clinton Jr. High School.

Goebel calls Clinton Jr. High School "the perfect situation". He says the school is the perfect size and feels blessed to be surrounded by a quality group of teachers. He feels because all these things Clinton is going to be a great place to raise his three kids.

Goebel likes the programs currently in place at Clinton Junior High School. He hopes to take those programs to the next level in the coming years. He says there are so many great things going on at the Jr. High level and feels blessed to be a part of it all.

Clinton schools are in the midst of a one-to-one computing movement. Goebel says technology is an excellent way to make education enjoyable. He says there's lots of ways to keep technology in the classroom cost effective and make it enjoyable.

As schools move towards the common core curriculum, Goebel has been working with the teachers of the Jr. High to get to the point they need to be by 2014-15. Normally, the Principal will take on that role and the Assistant Principal will act as the school's disciplinarian. In this case, Pine is the serving the role of disciplinarian and Goebel is serving as the curriculum coordinator.
The Jr. High also named their Assistant Principal to take the place of Goebel. Justin Deters, currently a Social Studies teacher is the new Jr. High Assistant Principal.
The Clinton Board of Education named their new Athletic Director as well on Tuesday night at their regular meeting, naming Basketball Coach Chris Gibson as the new district Athletic Director.
