New Judge Named To Hear Murder Trial

A new judge has been named to preside over the trials of 2 brothers accused of killing five members of a Beason family.

McLean County Circuit Judge Scott Drazewski will replace Judge Thomas Harris, who was named recently to the 4th District Appellate Court.

Drazewski is scheduled on Jan. 14 to hear a defense motion filed by 33-year-old Christopher Harris asking that his April 29 trial be moved outside Logan County. A trial date hasn't been set for 25-year-old Jason Harris.

Ruth and Rick Gee and 3 of their children were found beaten to death in their Beason home in September 2009.

Harris and his younger brother have pleaded not guilty to murder charges and the attempted murder of the child who survived.
