Illinois Gay Marriage Vote Postponed

The state senate postponed a vote on gay marriage yesterday, claiming they need more bi-partisan support. Suzie Hutton came to Springfield hoping to watch the historic vote go down. She says she and her partner are disappointed the voted was delayed but says it still feels good to be one step closer.

Hutton has been with her partner, Danielle Cook, for more than a decade. They joined in a civil union last year after that became legal in Illinois. The Bloomington couple also joined a lawsuit filed in Cook County asking a judge to make gay marriage legal. Hutton says no one should be denied the right to marry the person they love.
