According to the Illinois Highway Safety Coalition, unlicensed immigrant drivers rack up about 64-million dollars worth of vehicle damage claims a year. If this becomes law, the driver's will be issued a temporary license. But, the license will be invalid if they don't carry auto insurance. The immigrants will not be allowed to use the temporary license as a form of identification to board a plane or get a FOID card. The bill now goes to the full House for a vote.
