The pair of bald eagles that live at Miller Park Zoo have been getting visits from a wild eagle that's stopped by the Bloomington zoo several times.

The wild eagle has even landed in the open-topped enclosure that houses the flightless pair, Beauty and Mathata.

Zoo Superintendent Jay Tetzloff says the eagles have been "talking" back and forth. He says it's been exciting to watch a wild eagle so closely.

Wildlife biology professor Given Harper of Illinois Wesleyan University says he suspects the wild eagle is looking for a mate. He says it could be an eagle that's just reaching maturity or one that lost its mate.
