The St. Louis Cardinals have avoided arbitration with a pair of pitchers, signing right-handers Mitchell Boggs and Edward Mujica [[ moo-HE-kuh ]] to one-year contracts. Boggs posted a 4-and-1 record with a 2.21 earned run average while making a career-high 78 appearances last season, his fifth with the Cardinals. Mujica was acquired from Miami in a trade deadline deal last season and posted a 1.03 ERA in 29 games with the Cards.
