Calls On Stolen Cell Phone Leads To Burglary Charge

Brice Walter did just as he is required to do as a parolee when he telephoned the state's department of corrections. Unfortunately, authorities say he made the call from a stolen cell phone.

Walter now faces a residential burglary charge. The key question will be how he got a phone that a Decatur man reported missing Jan. 3.

Reports show the 21-year-old Walter has some explaining to do after an investigation also revealed that the same phone was used shortly after the burglary to telephone Walters' cousin.

Walter recently was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to vehicular burglary. He was released from prison in August after serving eight months of a 4-year sentence for residential burglary.
