A central Illinois man has been sentenced to 48 years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl that he knew.

Sixty-3-year-old Stephen Orendorff of Normal was sentenced Friday following a guilty plea in December to charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a minor over a 5-year period.

He made a statement of remorse. But reports indicate Judge Scott Drazewski told Orendorff he manipulated the girl and a second victim who testified Friday but was not named in the charges.

The judge told Orendorff that he "did all the things we know molesters of children do."

In a statement, the victim said "the pain, hurt and deceit were never-ending battles for" her.
