Blackhawks Win, Blues Blown Out

(San Jose, CA) -- Patrick Kane broke a three-all tie in the second and added an empty-netter in the closing moments to lift the Blackhawks over the Sharks, 5-3. Brandon Saad, Andrew Shaw and Marcus Kruger all lit the lamp in the opening period for Chicago, which has won two straight and is now 8-0-and-2. Brent Seabrook and Jonathan Toews [[ tayves ]] each had two assists while Corey Crawford halted 30 shots in the win. Michal Handzus [[ HAHN-zoose ]] and Tommy Wingels had a goal and assist for San Jose, which has lost three straight to fall to 7-2-and-1. Joe Pavelski netted his fifth goal of the year while Antti Niemi [[ ANN-tee nee-EM-ee ]] made 26 saves in the loss.

(St. Louis, MO) -- Six different Predators scored in Nashville's 6-1 victory over the homestanding Blues. Martin Erat [[ EE-rat ]] had a goal and two assists while Ryan Ellis scored one with one helper. Kevin Klein, Gabriel Bourque, RIchard Clunie and Nick Spaling also scored while Colin Wilson had three assists. Pekka Rinne [[ PECK-uh REE-nay ]] made 31 stops for the Preds, who have won three straight to move to 4-2-and-3. Alex Pietrangelo had St. Louis' lone goal while Brian Elliott was pulled from net after giving up four goals on 11 shots. Jake Allen made six saves in relief. The Blues have dropped two straight to fall to 6-and-3.
