Congressman Schock, NY Congressman Under Investigation

The House Ethics Committee is continuing investigations of 2 congressman: Illinois Republican Rep. Aaron Schock and New York Democrat Bill Owens. In both cases, the committee describes the probes as reviews and says the fact they are occurring is not an indication a violation has occurred.

The committee says Schock is being investigated over allegations he solicited contributions of more than $5,000 per donor for a super political action committee. The Owens probe centers on whether a trip he took to Taiwan was arranged by lobbyists for the country's government.

Both cases had been referred to the House committee by the Office of Congressional Ethics, which is a separate, outside ethics office.

Both Schock and Owens say they expect to be exonerated by the ethics committee.
