Senate Passes Bill To Boost Doctors Fees

The Senate has approved a plan to boost doctor's fees from 300-dollars every three years to 700 dollars. Senate President John Cullerton says the extra cash will help rehire people to process the doctor licenses, otherwise the state will lose out on good doctors.

The Illinois Hospital Association says at least one neurosurgeon has passed Illinois up because it took to long to get him licensed. Other doctors are still waiting to be licensed. Under the proposal, doctor fees would go up from 300-dollars every three years to 700-dollars. That's until 2018, when the fee would then drop to 500 dollars.
