Fake Officer Sexually Assaults Teenager

Here’s a reminder that it may not be safe to pull over for some unmarked police cars.  A 16-year-old girl in Sangamon County reports she was pulled over by a fake officer early Sunday morning.  Repeats indicate the girl was driving on Old Jacksonville Road , about two and a half miles west of Veterans Parkway, when a small white vehicle pulled behind her and turned on a white flashing light.  The fake officer asked for her driver’s license and registration, made her perform a field sobriety test, then told her to get inside his car.  That’s where he allegedly touched her between the legs, outside her clothes.  She punched him, ran to her car, and drove away.  Police remind drivers that all their vehicles have red and blue lights.  And they remind drivers that they have the right to call 9-1-1 before pulling over to make sure it’s a real officer tailing them.
