>>Cubs' Garza To Miss A Week

(Mesa, AZ) -- Cubs pitcher Matt Garza will sit out for about a week according to general manager Jed Hoyer. Garza suffered a strain on the left side of his body and underwent an MRI Monday. Hoyer says the strain is "where the lat meets the oblique" and added that the injury is mild. The ailment will push back Garza's first Cactus League start.

(Glendale, AZ) -- White Sox relief pitcher Matt Thornton underwent an MRI yesterday on his left elbow. The test revealed inflammation, which caused discomfort for him and kept him from throwing live batting practice. The White Sox say there is no current timetable for the 36-year-old's return to action.
