Clinton Firefighters Doing Annual Walk The Streets Fundraising and Safety Event

Clinton residents may be getting a knock at the door from your local firefighters.

Firefighters will be going door to door over the next couple weeks seeking financial help. Clinton Fire Chief Shawn Milton says his guys while out, will be talking with residents about fire safety and keeping their smoke alarms up to date.

The department is seeking to acquire some equipment they can train on. Chief Milton says they can basically come up with equipment to have a mock house and do mock drills with.

Chief Milton says he appreciates the support the community has shown over the years, and he wants his firefighters to be there to answer questions anyone may have. He says he doesn't want the community feel they only knock on their doors when they need financial assistance.

Chief Milton says the firefighters have been out Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the past week, however, some days they may stay in due to weather. He says they will continue to be out knocking on doors for the next few weeks.
