Motion to Appoint Fallen Board Member's Widow To Fill Vacant Seat On This Week's County Board Agenda

The DeWitt County Board Thursday night could name the replacement for the late Tom Pruser.

Pruser's seat on the Board has been vacant since his passing in late June. Tonight, the County Board's agenda features a motion to appoint Pruser's widow, Christina, to the fill his unexpired term. She would represent District B, with the term to expire November 30, 2014.

Dustin Peterson with the DeWitt County Republican Central Committee will address the board. It is the Republican Committee's recommendation to appoint Christina Pruser to fill the vacant seat. The item on the agenda was not asked to be placed there by the Republican Committee, nor was any Board member approached by committee.

Dr. Harold Weinberg will once again speak before the Board as well.

As reported earlier this week, the County Board will read and discuss a letter from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency dated from Tuesday. Details of the letter submitted and it's pertinence to DeWitt County can be read here.

At last week's meeting, an item on the agenda called for discussion of selling the Clinton Lake Marina. That was put on by Keith Koons, who was not present for last week's meeting. The discussion item returns to this week's agenda.

Tonight's meeting is set for a 7 pm start time in the County building.
