The Champaign County Fair is continuing its successful run through Saturday.

The fair is celebrating is 162nd year and shows no signs of slowing down. Fair President Mike Kobel explains the biggest events of the fair will take place this weekend. A couple concerts featuring contestants from The Voice and American Idol will be presented tonight. Tractor and truck pulls conclude the fair Saturday night.

Kobel says the 12-person Fair Board works hard each and every year to make the Champaign County Fair one of the areas best. He notes the board is full of hard working individuals who take pride in the product the Champaign County Fair puts out.

The fair brings out great community support for Champaign County. Madison Frerichs, Miss Champaign County Fair 2014, says she particpated in order to give back to the community. As a University of Illinois student, she wants to work to create more cohesion between the County and the U of I.
