Fair Officials Caught Up In Beer Scandal

An Illinois state fair official is without a job following a scandal over free beer tickets. Investigators say former DuQuoin State Fair Manager John Rednour asked a beer vendor to give him up to two-thousand free beer tickets back in 2012. That's a total tab of between four and eight-thousand dollars, which is more than the state's Gift Ban allows. Rednour resigned his post back in January and agreed to stay off the state's payroll for at least five years.

The Illinois State Fair Manager was also caught up in the free beer scandal. Amy Bliefnick [[ Bleef-ninck ]] was fined a-thousand-bucks and ordered to serve a two-day suspension without pay for taking unsolicited tickets from beer vendors last year. There's no evidence that she actually asked for the tickets, but she took them as part of a "long-standing practice" and handed them out to senior members at the Department of Ag.
