Illinois is giving voters a chance to weigh in on whether millionaires should dig a little deeper and pay more to make sure schools have the money they need. Governor Quinn says that's not too much to ask.

The proposal aims to tax an extra three-percent on all income over one-million-bucks. Voters will get to vote up or down on the issue this November, but it's a non-binding question so lawmakers won't be required to implement the tax, no matter what voters say. Republicans don't like the idea. They say it's nothing more than a Democratic ploy to boost their support at the polls.
