(Chicago, IL) -- Brandon Barnes singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth as the Rockies got by the Cubs 6-4 at Wrigley Field. Drew Stubbs added a run by scoring on a wild pitch as Colorado stopped a three-game slide. Charlie Blackmon and Michael McKenry each had three hits and doubled in a run while Charlie Culberson also knocked one in with a two-bagger. Rob Scahill earned the win in relief while Adam Ottavino notched his first save. Wesley Wright was charged with the loss for Chicago. Luis Valbuena hit a two-run homer and drove in three to complete a 3-for-5 effort. The Cubs have lost three of five.

(San Diego, CA) -- The Padres used an eight-run seventh inning to pick up a 12-1 win over the Cardinals at Petco Park. Will Venable and Jedd Gyorko [[ JER-koe ]] both cracked a home run and tallied four RBI apiece. Yangervis Solarte [[ yahn-HER-viss so-LAR-tay ]] went 4-for-5 and batted in two runs for San Diego, which has won two straight since losing three in-a-row. Jesse Hahn threw seven innings of one-run ball to improve to 7-and-2 on the season. Joe Kelly got tagged for four runs and seven hits in five frames of work to fall to 2-and-2 for the Cardinals, who have lost six of their last eight. Peter Bourjos [[ BORE-juss ]] drove in the lone St. Louis run.

(Detroit, MI) -- Nick Castellanos hit a three-run homer to cap a six-run first inning and knocked in four to guide the Tigers to a 7-2 win over the White Sox at Comerica Park. Torii Hunter went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and an RBI for Detroit, which snapped a four-game slide. Max Scherzer picked up his 13th win after seven innings of one-run ball. Adam Dunn went deep for the second straight game for Chicago, which has lost two of three. Hector Noesi [[ no-AY-see ]] gave up six runs in six innings for the loss.
