>>Jared Allen Hopes To Be In Uniform Against Jaguars

Jared Allen can see it all coming together for the Chicago Bears and their defense.

width=Now, all he needs to do is get on the field.

The five-time Pro Bowl defensive end anticipates suiting up for the first time with the Bears when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday.

Chicago's prized free agent acquisition, Allen sat out last week's preseason opener against Philadelphia after missing practices because his wife gave birth to a girl.

Assuming he plays this week, it will provide the first glimpse at how a rebuilt defense that the Bears are counting on to make a playoff run functions with its new star.

>>Bears Battle Jaguars

(Chicago, IL) -- The Bears are back to work tonight at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chicago is coming off a 34-28 win over the Eagles in its first preseason game. Jimmy Clausen will take over the offense following the exit of starting quarterback Jay Cutler.

>>Seahawks Lynch Cleared By Police

(Undated) -- Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been cleared in the assault and property damage accusation made against him on Monday. The Bellevue, Washington police department announced Wednesday that Lynch was cleared of any involvement in the incident. Seahawks officials spoke to Lynch and had proof that the 28-year-old was in his hotel room at the time of the incident. The Bellevue PD stated Monday that Lynch was under investigation for the claim made by an unnamed female in which the Seahawks responded on Tuesday, calling the accusation "bogus." The former Golden Bear is entering his third year of a 30-million-dollar deal for the defending Super Bowl champions.
