Rose Returns To United Center For Team USA; NBA Notes

width=>>Rose Hears Cheers As USA Plays In Chicago Against Brazil

Derrick Rose heard the cheers and showed some of his old explosiveness, fellow Chicago product Anthony Davis scored 20 points, and the U.S. beat Brazil 95-78 in a tuneup for the World Cup of Basketball on Saturday night.

With fans roaring for Rose all night, the Chicago Bulls point guard flashed some of his MVP moves. He also seemed happy to defer to his teammates in his first appearance at the United Center since his latest season-ending knee injury, finishing with seven points.

Davis, who like Rose grew up on Chicago's South Side, dominated down the stretch, and the U.S. pulled away after Brazil kept it close for three quarters.

With a five-point lead going into the fourth, the U.S. went on a 14-2 run to break open a 68-63 game.

>>Marion To Join James, Cavaliers

(Cleveland, OH) -- Free-agent forward Shawn Marion is apparently set to join LeBron James. ESPN reports that Marion will sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers, despite the fact that the team can only offer him a minimum deal. The report says Marion was intrigued by playing with James, and that ultimately led to his decision. The 36-year-old Marion had been courted earlier this week by the Indiana Pacers, who lost star Paul George to a compound leg fracture earlier this month. Marion averaged 10.4 points and 6.5 rebounds last season with the Dallas Mavericks.
