The Barclays Preview

 width=The PGA Tour travels to Paramus, New Jersey, this week for the first week of the FedExCup Playoffs at The Barclays. The top 125 players in the FedExCup standings are eligible to play this week. Rory McIlroy is first on the FedExCup points list with 2,582; Jimmy Walker is second with 2,493; Bubba Watson is third with 2,172; and Matt Kuchar is fourth with 1,921.

McIlroy, Walker and Watson will be paired together for the first two rounds of the tournament. McIlroy is playing for the first time since winning his second straight major and fourth of his career at the PGA Championship two weeks ago. McIlroy is going for his fourth consecutive win. He has won the British Open Championship, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship in his
last three starts.

The number of players will be cut to the top 100 on the points list following this week for next week's Deutsche Bank Championship, 70 for the BMW Championship and 30 for The Tour Championship. The FedExCup champion will receive $10 million, the largest single bonus payout in sports. Three players who qualified for this tournament are not playing this week. They are Dustin Johnson, Jason Dufner and Steve Stricker.
