Clinton Community Attends Dedication Of New School

Although it was a hot day, the Clinton community came out to see the highly anticipated dedication of the new elementary school. Many in attendance were the staff, students and parents. They were started off with the pledge of allegiance led by Mary Diener, the associate principal. They were followed by the National Anthem and opening remarks by Rod Wertz, the school board president, Dr. Jeff Holmes, Superintendent, and many more. After this, everyone was invited to take a look around the school.

Mary Diener was able to tell us about some of the highlights of the new school.

She went on to tell of how excited the kids are to be starting at a school that felt welcoming. She also told of how some of the children were concerned about not having a playground, which Mary explained would be coming in soon, but they were waiting for the weather to be nice enough to put it in.

Former Board President Buck Carter was also there and said even though he is proud of the new elementary school, they aren't finished yet.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Holmes was also around welcoming everyone who came in. He explained that from the start, he wanted to make a school that was welcoming for students and he thinks he accomplished that, along with giving both kids and adults alike the "WOW" factor.

There will be an open house on the 26th from 5-6 PM
