>>NFL Upholds Josh Gordon's One-Year Suspension

(New York, NY) -- The NFL is upholding its one-year suspension of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon. His appeal has been denied, and Gordon will miss a full calender year. He will be eligible for reinstatement August 27, 2015. He was suspended for a repeat violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Gordon was appealing a positive test for marijuana, claiming he was exposed to second-hand smoke. Because the ruling took as long as it did, Gordon will miss 2015's training camp and most of the preseason. The 23-year-old issued a statement through the Players' Association apologizing to his team and fans, but says the NFL should have used better discretion and judgment in his case.
