>>#19 Ole Miss Rolls Boise State

(Atlanta, GA) -- Ole Miss exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter to drop Boise State 35-13 from the Georgia Dome to begin the college football season. Bo Wallace threw for 386 yards to go with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Cody Core caught four balls for 111 yards and two scores for the 19th-ranked Rebels. Grant Hedrick threw for 262 yards, one TD and four picks as the Broncos began the Bryan Harsin era. Head coach Chris Petersen left to become the head guy at Washington.

(Columbia, SC) -- Kenny Hill tossed for 511 yards and three touchdowns to carry number-20 Texas A&M to a 52-28 win over ninth-ranked South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium. Hill was making his first start and completed 44 passes, 14 to Malcome Kennedy, who ended with 137 yards. Trey Williams rushed for 78 yards and a TD while Tra [[ Trey ]] Carson finished with three scores on the ground. Dylan Thompson threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns to go with an interception for the Gamecocks. Nick Jones hauled in five balls for 113 yards and two TDs in the season-opening loss.

(Undated) -- Major college football is back. Tonight, eighth-ranked Michigan State opens at home against Jacksonville State. A full slate of action is on tap tomorrow, including top-ranked and defending champion Florida State facing Oklahoma State at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Sixth-ranked Ohio State goes up against Navy at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Buckeyes are without star quarterback Braxton Miller, who is out for the season with a shoulder injury. Fifth-ranked and last season's BCS runner-up Auburn hosts Arkansas and 12th-ranked Georgia entertains number-16 Clemson in a battle of ranked teams.

(Notre Dame, IN) -- Notre Dame is holding out its fifth player as the university continues its academic misconduct investigation. ESPN reports senior safety Eilar Hardy will not participate in practice or games. Wide receiver DaVaris Daniels, cornerback KeiVarae Russell, defensive end Ishaq Williams and linebacker Kendall Moore were previously suspended. The Fighting Irish begin the season Saturday at home against Rice.
