District B Seat Remains Vacant; Up To Republican Committee To Find New Nomination

width=The vacant District B seat on the DeWitt County Board was once again the subject of debate at Thursday night's meeting.

Board Member Sue May-Witted addressed Board Chair Sherrie Brown regarding a request made by Republican Chairman Dustin Peterson on September 9th. Peterson and Christy Pruser, widow of late-Board Member Tom Pruser, explain they are willing to meet with Brown at a convenient time. May-Witted notes all evidence points to Brown not wanting to bring forward anyone who disagreed with her.

Board Member David Newberg asked Brown if she responded to Peterson and Pruser but she already declined the nomination at a previous meeting and it wasn't her responsibility to bring forward another name for the seat.

The vacancy has been unfilled for 84 days as of Thursday.

Thursday night's meeting also saw the Board unanimously approve the re-establishment of the EMA Administrative Assistant position.
