Organizers Ready For Clinton's Biggest Weekend of the Year

The annual Apple and Pork Festival in Clinton is this weekend and organizers say they are ready for things to get going.

Larry Buss is the resident manager of the CH Moore Homestead and the primary organizer of the biggest yearly event in Clinton. He says it feels good to be at the head of an event that does so much for the community.

width=The Apple and Pork Festival was originally a small event the CH Moore Homestead hosted as a fundraiser for their yearly upkeep. In the last couple decades, the festival has exploded to become a big fundraiser not only the CH Moore Homestead, but also for DeWitt County's non-profits groups.

According to assistant manager at the Homestead, Joey Woolridge, the weekend is reliant on volunteers all over the grounds. She explains jobs may include helping prepare food in the gift shop to helping clean up before and after the event each day. She notes there is a job for anyone looking to get involved.
