Ryder Cup Set To Tee Off From Scotland

 width=The 40th Ryder Cup tees off from Scotland today with the Friday Four-Ball matches at on the PGA Centenary Course at the Gleneagles Hotel. There are a total of 10 major championship winners between the two teams of 24 total golfers, six on the American side. Each team has three Ryder Cup rookies. The Ryder Cup also has eight of the top 10 players in the world. The European team is captained by Paul McGinley, and the Americans are led by Tom Watson. Europe achieved one of the greatest comebacks in Ryder Cup history in 2012 in the 39th edition of the event by winning eight and tying one of the 12 singles matches. The US has not won a Ryder Cup on foreign soil since 1993. This time, for the first time since 2008 and only the second since 1995 that Tiger Woods has not been a part of the event.
