(Brooklyn, NY) -- It didn't take long for first-year Nets head coach Lionel Hollins to send a message to center Brook Lopez. In a story from the "New York Daily News," Hollins implores Lopez to assert himself more as a player. At seven-feet tall, Hollins wants Lopez to use his size to be more forceful, but that's never been Lopez's game. The former first-round pick only played in 17 games last season and has a career rebounding average of 7.3.

(Cleveland, OH) -- It was only the preseason opener, but the LeBron James and Kevin Love tandem made their debut for the Cavaliers Sunday night. Cleveland dumped Tel Aviv Maccabi, 107-80. James scored 12 points with four assists and four rebounds in 20 minutes, while Love added eight points, 11 boards and four helpers in 23 minutes. Kyrie Irving chipped in 16 points with five dimes. Cleveland is at the Heat on Saturday.

(Undated) -- The NBA is announcing a new television deal on Monday. Commissioner Adam Silver will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. to discuss the new partnership with ESPN and Turner. It can be seen on NBA TV and NBA.com. The current deal is set to expire following the 2015-16 season. The Sports Business Journal reports the contract is worth two-billion-dollars annually.
