Bears, Rams Lose

(Charlotte, NC) -- Cam Newton hit Greg Olsen from six yards out with just over two minutes to play to complete a 31-24 comeback win over the Bears at Bank of America Stadium. Philly Brown opened the scoring with a 79-yard punt return for a TD, but the Bears then scored the next 21 points to make it 21-7 early in the second quarter. Both Newton TD passes went to Olsen, who ended with six grabs and 72 yards. Newton finished with 255 yards and an interception. Jay Cuter had two touchdowns and two picks through the air while rushing for 22 yards and a score. Matt Forte had 12 catches for 105 yards and a TD, and Alshon Jeffery added 97 yards and a score. There were seven combined turnovers in the game; the costliest one coming late in the fourth by Forte. That fumble set up the game-winning drive for Carolina, which improved to 3-and-2. Chicago slipped to 2-and-3.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Eagles scored a pair of non-offensive touchdowns to build a huge lead and hang on for a 34-28 win over the Rams at Lincoln Financial Field. Chris Maragos recovered a blocked punt for a TD and Cedric Thornton recovered a fumble in the end zone for a score as Philadelphia improved to 4-and-1. Nick Foles threw for 207 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while LeSean McCoy ran for 81 yards in the win. Austin Davis threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns but lost two fumbles for St. Louis, which fell to 1-and-3. Brian Quick made five catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns in defeat.

(Landover, MD) -- The Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are on the road for "Monday Night Football," facing the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field. Seattle is coming off its bye week and is 2-and-1 after beating the Denver Broncos in overtime two weeks ago in a Super Bowl rematch. Washington comes in following a 45-14 setback to the New York Giants on Thursday of Week Four. That loss put the 'Skins at 1-and-3. The Seahawks won by 10 in the playoffs during the 2012 season in the last matchup, which saw quarterback Robert Griffin the Third suffer a knee injury. "RG3" is out again now, with Kirk Cousins under center.

>>Broncos Could Be Without Ball

(Denver, CO) -- The breaks haven't gone Monte Ball's way in 2014. According to the "Denver Post," the Broncos running back could be "out for a while" after suffering an injury to his groin in Sunday's win against the Cardinals. Ball will have an MRI on Monday. At the time of the injury, he had seven yards on six carries. In four games this season, Ball has been held to 172 yards on 55 carries, good for 3.1 yards per carry. He's only scored one touchdown and lost a fumble. Ronnie Hillman stepped in for Ball, piling up 64 yards on 15 carries. Hillman and C.J. Anderson are expected to get the touches while the second-year back is out.

(Denver, CO) -- Peyton Manning continues to climb the charts in the NFL history book. Manning hit Julius Thomas in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Cardinals to become the second quarterback ever to pass for 500 touchdowns. The 38-year-old had exactly 100 TD passes with the Broncos coming into the game. The future Hall of Famer threw 399 touchdowns while with the Colts from 1998 to 2010. He missed the 2011 season for Indianapolis with an injury. He joined the Broncos for the 2012 season. Manning added three more TD tosses and now has 503 for his career. Brett Favre has an NFL-record 508 touchdown passes.
